Keflex (cephalexin) is an antibiotic medication used to treat infections caused by bacteria. This can include upper respiratory infections, ear infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections, and bone infections. Keflex works by fighting bacteria in your body and will not work to treat viral infections.

• Take Keflex orally with or without food.
• It is typically prescribed to be taken every six to twelve hours.

• Unusual tiredness.
• Shortness of breath.
• Lightheadedness.
• Easy bruising or bleeding.
• Red or purple spots under your skin.
• Cold hands or feet or pale skin.
• Seizures.
• Jaundice.
• Painful or dark coloured urine.
• Pain in your side or lower back.
• Fever or weakness.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction including difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Keflex?

If you miss a dose of Keflex, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
